Fabulous Electric Kettle! See Update Below
I should have bought this kettle sooner! It has saved me both time and money. I leave it out on the counter--its modern design fits with our remodeled kitchen--and use it almost everyday. Here is why I love this kettle:
1) I save time because it makes hot water in a snap, much faster than a microwave or the stovetop, and I save money because it is cheaper to operate than my stove or microwave and the measured container ensures that I only heat up as much water as I need.
2) The unit shuts off when the water is done boiling, so there is no chance of you accidentally leaving it on for hours at a time (which I have done plenty of times on the stovetop).
3) It's so convenient that I don't find myself going to expensive coffee shops as much.
4) It's perfect for making tea, hot cocoa, soups and even Jell-o.
5) We bring it with us when we travel by car and camp (we have a power converter for the car). Most hotel rooms don't have a way to make tea in your room (unless you run water through the in-room coffee maker and don't mind your tea tasting like coffee) and boiling water over a campfire is always slow. This electric kettle allows me to make tea on the go or boil water for camp clean up quickly and without the fuss. If you have a vacation home, cabin or RV, this kettle is a must.
6) I have never had any problems with my unit and the thoughtful design ensures drip- and dribble-free serving. The kettle can spin 360 degrees on its base so putting it back is always easy.

UPDATE--March 2009: Well, it was too good to be true. The kettle worked great for about a year and a half and then it started leaking water from the bottom. We still used it even with the leak, but had to make sure we emptied the water out when we were done. Then, just last week, it finally stopped working completely so I had to throw it away. It was not the most expensive kettle, but also not the cheapest (I think it cost about ). Honestly though I would expect a small appliance to last more than a year and a half. I need to replace it now, but will likely buy from a place with a liberal return policy so that I can return it if performance falls short.

Great! Don't regret paying the extra money. We love this and it is easy to use and really fast. I keep it on the counter and I always have people asking where I got it. Who knew it would be a conversation piece! I would highly recommend it. The dual chamber allows you to fill it less often--very handy.
